I know it has been a while since I posted anything.
I am going to try and help those that have had places of employment change the medical insurance or added or changed one word to make you pay more in co-pays or worse, drop you from all health insurance plans, life insurance plans and including any type of investment you may have that the company pays part and you pay part of. The employer does not have to inform you of any changes.
I have a case in point, my own.
I was married to a man that co-owned a business with his mother. They had excellent health insurance that is until I found out that when I got hurt and broke my back in three places that the company was not meeting their premium payments. I found this out when I went to order medication.
I called the insurance company and they told me I could not use the insurance until the premiums were paid up. I am not the only one this happened to, but to other of their workers who were talking critical blood pressure meds and one on Chemo for Prostate Cancer.
I filed for disability in August of '01.
I had to have ALJ followed by a second one to win my case. I won my case in Sept.2003.
Then my real nightmare began by this man and my mother-in-law. They dropped me from the health insurance plan they had. The reason I was too costly. I wanted to know about the other people that were on the health plan because they were on blood pressure meds and Chemo Therapy. Since they were employees they got to keep their health benefits with the exception of the one on Chemo. Yes, you read correctly the one on Chemo was dropped.
I lost out on my medicine with a small co-pay all because I was too expensive to carry and I had Medicare Part A and B. Any person can tell you that you do not have a prescription with Medicare, at least not in 2003 until early 2006.
I tried to get prescription but I was told it would be too costly for me and that I should keep the prescription coverage I already had.
I politely told the agent in front of my now ex-husband that I was dropped from prescription coverage and medical coverage since I had Medicare.
The agent asked my ex about me being dropped and my ex told him it was because I had Medicare. I told my ex what did having Medicare have to do with it. I had to have prescription coverage and I need it now.
Needless to say, I had to start going without my much needed medications. I was and still am on serious medications.
I finally had enough of not being taken care of and not having my medications that I started getting them any way and I used our checking account to pay for them.
I also found out he was not paying bills, my phone was turned off for 6 months, our electric was turned off and turned back on when the electric company received a fax from my doctor.
I mean this was stupid, causing me all kinds of heartache, stress and new outbreaks of Sarcoidosis.
I met a wonderful man and we are happily married.
He is a retired Chrysler worker with HUMANA health insurance. Seems Chrysler decided to change medical insurance companies.
I know if it hadn’t been for UAW Local 72 none of the workers would have known about this change.
Humana is notorious for farming out all of its different plans. Humana does not and will never cover doctor co-pays, nor take care of medicines. Medications are handled by Pharmacare and if you have this prescription coverage, your medications are being
I hope and pray that if any of you are married to a Veteran with a disability, and no health insurance to check into CHAMPVA. You are then entitled to all medical care as well as prescription drugs at no charge to you.
The said part they were paid for by a greater price. The sweat and blood of those who survived and died on all of the battlefields, from Germany, Japan, Italy, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq.
